About the Role
You're a systems thinker, a craftsperson, and a user advocate. As a Senior Product Designer on our Media Product team, you'll help shape the future of how millions of people consume journalism. You'll design intuitive, elegant experiences that span subscription journeys, sports, tentpole experiences , and emerging AI-powered tools that support both our readers and newsroom workflows.
This is a high-impact role where you'll collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and editors to bring clarity to complex problems and deliver thoughtful, user-centered solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead design for key initiatives across the consumer product ecosystem-from onboarding and checkout to interactive storytelling.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform and validate your design decisions.
- Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI that align with our design system and brand.
- Collaborate closely with design leads and cross-functional partners to define product strategy and roadmap priorities.
- Present your work to stakeholders and advocate for the user at every step of the process.
What You'll Bring
- 7 + years of experience designing digital products, ideally in consumer-facing or content-rich environments.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, visual design skills, and a track record of shipping impactful work.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience with user research and testing tools.
- Experience using and building Figma design systems (UI kits) using best practices for delivery a t scale.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to give and receive feedback with clarity and empathy.
- A curiosity about how AI and emerging technologies can enhance user experiences and create efficiencies .
Bonus Points
- Experience designing subscription-based products or media platforms.
- Familiarity with data visualization, storytelling formats, or editorial tools.
- Passion for journalism, design systems, and building accessible, inclusive experiences .

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $90,000 and $120,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience.
