MicroHealth is seeking a VMware ESXI Administrator to support our contract providing to achieve the acceptable levels of enterprise management and technical support, for the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of the Navy's fleet in the areas of Technical Support, IT Strategies and Client Services, and Cyber Security. *Clearance: a T5 security clearance based on an initiated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) in Defense Information System for Security DISS)* *On-site required* Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) CIO C109, Portsmouth, VA 23709 Responsibilities: VMware Infrastructure Management Design, deploy, and implement VMware infrastructure components including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and associated management tools Maintain virtualized environments supporting high availability, resource optimization, and secure operations Perform regular health checks and proactive maintenance of the VMware environment Windows Domain Administration Manage Microsoft Windows domain architecture including Active Directory deployment Configure Group Policy and DNS/DHCP services as they integrate with VMware infrastructure Ensure proper authentication and authorization mechanisms across the virtualized environment Virtual Desktop Management Create and administer virtual desktop environments (e.g., Horizon View) Develop and maintain virtual machine templates, manage snapshots, and configure virtual networking Ensure system stability, scalability, and optimal performance Storage and Disaster Recovery Configure and provision storage systems (iSCSI, NFS, VMFS) Perform patch management and data backup operations Develop and test disaster recovery plans for virtualized environments Performance Optimization Conduct capacity planning and system monitoring Perform performance tuning to identify and resolve infrastructure issues proactively Optimize resource allocation across the virtual environment Documentation and Change Management Follow formal change management processes Maintain comprehensive documentation according to organizational standards Document all system configurations, updates, and maintenance activities Stakeholder Communication Communicate effectively with stakeholders about system status and changes Support the successful delivery of IT infrastructure projects Provide technical guidance to achieve operational goals Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline Ten (10) years of experience in VMware infrastructure components In-depth knowledge of Windows domain deployment, management, and configuration Recommended Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher Microsoft Server certification Security+ certification Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
