The Enterprise Director, Post Acute Access & Business Development, is a dynamic leadership role within WVU Medicine's Post Acute Services division. This position is responsible for shaping and executing strategy to optimize patient access, drive business development, and expand market reach across Home Health, Hospice, Home Medical Equipment (HME), and related post-acute domains. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions of care, innovate referral pathways, and cultivate relationships that enhance the division's value proposition for patients, providers, and the health system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Progressive leadership experience in post-acute, home health, hospice, DME, or related healthcare settings.

2. Expertise in case management, access management, business development, and healthcare marketing, particularly in multi-site or enterprise-level organizations.

3. Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic referral and partner relationships.

4. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards for post-acute care, including patient choice requirements.

5. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team development skills.

6. Financial acumen to manage budgets, analyze market trends, and implement cost-effective strategies.

7. Experience launching or scaling innovative care models is highly desirable (e.g., palliative medicine, Hospital at Home, remote patient monitoring).

1. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or related field preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Access Management & Optimization: Lead, refine, and oversee centralized intake and referral processes for all post-acute service lines (Home Health, Hospice, HME), ensuring timely, efficient, and patient-centered care transitions from acute and ambulatory settings to home-based services.

2. Business Development: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to increase market share, grow average daily census, and broaden the reach of WVU Medicine's post-acute offerings. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, service lines, and partnership models (e.g., Hospital at Home, remote monitoring, palliative care expansion).

3. Referral Relationships: Build and sustain relationships with internal and external referral sources, including system hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), community organizations, and physician groups-to expand patient access and enhance the referral experience.

4. Preferred Provider Strategy: Support the establishment and execution of preferred partner programs for SNF, Hospice, Home Health, and HME. Advance the position of WVU Medicine as the provider of choice during patient discharge planning while ensuring compliance with patient choice regulations.

5. Outreach & Marketing: Lead a highly effective outreach team to drive awareness, education, and promotion of post-acute services throughout WVU Medicine's market. Develop data-driven marketing strategies and provide objective data for discharge planning.

6. Operational Collaboration: Partner with directors in Home Health, Hospice, HME, and Quality/Regulatory to ensure alignment of access and business development initiatives with clinical operations, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements.

7. Data & Performance Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to access, referral volumes, patient experience, market share, and business growth, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement.

8. Innovation & Service Expansion: Collaborate on the development and pilot of new care models, such as Palliative Medicine Transition of Care Coordinator programs and Hospital at Home, integrating these innovations into access frameworks and business development plans.

9. Staff Leadership: Direct intake, outreach, and liaison teams; foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration; and invest in staff development through mentorship and engagement programs.
