Join our team as a Deposit Services Maintenance Specialist, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of new account data while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers. - Verify new account data on the system for deposit accounts including Checking, Savings, IRA, Certificates of Deposit, Safe Deposit Box, etc with a high level of detail and accuracy.
- Perform file maintenance changes to account and/or portfolio information and ensure compliance with all changes. This includes stop payment information, charge addendas, address changes, account changes, etc.
- Review various audit reports daily to ensure compliance with procedures and security.
- Review accounts for potential fraud and report discrepancies to appropriate Bank personnel.
Quality Customer Service
- Promote and maintain positive relations with all internal and external contacts, customers and potential customers.
- Research and assist in problem solving issues/concerns as needed.
- Contribute ideas on ways to resolve problems to better serve the customer and/or improve productivity and efficiency.
- Refer customers to other bank personnel when appropriate.
Adhere to all Bank Security/Compliance Regulations
- Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
- Stay current on all compliance regulations required for the Deposit Services area and adhere to all associated guidelines.
Other Responsibilities
- Keep storage/retention items current.
- Assist in keeping procedure manuals up to date.
- Work as part of a team to accomplish office/department goals. This includes working additional hours as needed and/or taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Participate in internal/external training as appropriate.
- Participate in community involvement/bank activities as appropriate.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years previous financial institution experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
- Enhanced ability and willingness to learn new programs, software and technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to make good decisions and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow up skills.
- Willingness to work toward goals and performance standards of the department including the ability to put forth the extra effort necessary to make the department a successful operation: (i.e. working additional hours, attending outside educational programs, etc.)
- Flexibility with hours and willingness to occasionally travel to other locations in order to meet the demands of the department.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English well and speak clearly.
- Willingness and ability to participate in community functions where the office is involved.
- Demonstrated ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or similar education.
- Previous banking experience, preferably in an Operations capacity, and familiarity with financial products and services.
- Understanding of account titling requirements for new accounts.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
This is a full time role between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Flexibility in scheduling may be needed on occasion.
