Primary Purpose and Essential Functions |
The mission of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy (the School) is to prepare students for lifelong success in health careers by providing an excellent, student-centered learning environment. We aspire to develop leadership skills in our students and a strong commitment to their professions, to facilitate interprofessional collaboration, and to improve society. These efforts are assisted by linkages across the University of the Pacific (the University) professional and liberal arts programs. We support outstanding professional and graduate teaching, research and other scholarly activity, and service as a means of achieving our mission.
Assistant Clinical Professor Diabetes Care Clinics Faculty is a part-time, non-tenure track appointment at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy (
PHS). The faculty serves as a member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and is eligible for annual reappointment.
The primary responsibilities of this position include supporting the organization of health fairs and clinical programs, precepting students during pharmacy practice experiences, contributing to clinic initiatives, developing best practices for patient care, collaborating/communicating with community partners, clinic data management and serving as a liaison with patients and prescribers. Additionally, this individual may be expected to teach and participate in direct patient care activities. The faculty member will also assist the Clinic Program Director and Manager with administrative tasks and program deliverables. Other faculty duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Program Director of the Diabetes Care Clinics. This Non-Tenure Track position will be offered as an annual appointment, with the possibility of renewal. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- PharmD.
- Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in California
- A solid foundation in ambulatory care, pharmacotherapy, and/or direct patient care.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in diabetes management, cardiovascular care, clinical pharmacy, immunizations, and medication therapy management.
- Postgraduate training (such as a residency or fellowship), prior teaching experience, substantial community outreach, and relevant clinical practice are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in an additional language is also desirable.

Hiring Range |
$57.69 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
