The pay range for this position is $23.48 - $33.95 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As an IT Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing IT support to end-users in a radiology healthcare environment, ensuring that medical professionals and staff have reliable access to critical desktop systems, software, and medical imaging platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(25%) Medical Imaging Systems and End-User Support



  • Provide timely and effective technical support to radiologists, technicians, and healthcare staff for all desktop, laptop, workstation and mobile device issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of radiology-specific software (e.g., PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), RIS (Radiology Information Systems)
  • Ensure imaging devices are functioning correctly and accessible to end-users


(40%) Hardware/Software Mgmt., Troubleshooting, Problem Resolution, System Maintenance &

Updates



  • Support the installation, setup, and maintenance of desktop hardware (PCs, printers, scanners, etc.), operating systems (Windows, Apple/Android, etc.), and specialized radiology applications
  • Respond to and resolve IT issues related to desktop systems, networking, and medical imaging technology. Provide remote and on-site support when necessary
  • Monitor system performance and apply software patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure continued operation of both clinical and administrative systems
  • Work closely with the infrastructure and network teams to resolve system outages and network issues
  • Ensure optimal configuration of systems and workstations. Proper documentation of system access
  • Assist with inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals


(15%) Documentation and Reporting/Incident and Request Management



  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions provided, and any issues that may require escalation to higher-tier support teams
  • Utilize IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) to track and manage incidents, requests, and user complaints to ensure that all IT issues are resolved in a timely manner


(10%) HIPAA Compliance



  • Ensure that all desktop systems and medical imaging devices meet HIPAA privacy and security requirements
  • Maintain secure access to patient information, enforcing encryption standards, and ensuring proper documentation of system access


(5%) User Training



  • Conduct training for staff on the use of hardware and software tools, ensuring that all users can operate systems efficiently and securely.


(5%) Other duties and projects assigned

Required:



  • Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or in a related and applicable field.
  • Two (2) years' experience in an IT desktop support role
  • A+ Certification, Network+ Certification, or other relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows, Apple and Android operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network configurations and troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
  • Experience in supporting medical imaging systems and understanding of image data formats (DICOM).
  • Basic knowledge of server management, backup systems, and IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge of data encryption, backup solutions, and IT security best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products; i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Occasional travel between departments may be necessary.
  • Some travel is required between sites; a reliable means of transportation is required.



Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or other related and applicable field.
  • Two (2) years' experience in an IT support role in a healthcare or radiology setting
  • Experience with radiology-specific software such as PACS and RIS, or similar
  • Additional certifications related to healthcare IT, such as Healthcare IT Technician (HIT) or PACS-related certifications
  • Experience with Epic Systems or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with VMware or other virtualized environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions or medical image cloud storage.
  • Basic understanding of ITIL (ServiceNow) best practices for incident and change management.
