Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a System IT Director - Pharmacy Applications in Louisville, KY

As a key leader in the Baptist Health Information Services Department in Louisville, KY, the individual in this position is responsible for strategy and operations of the IT service lines to which the incumbent is assigned.

Develops project schedules that align to enterprise and various business units.

Works with clinical constituents in business units to identify pharmacy design and workflow analysis. Provides leadership in the pharmacy community and collaborates with internal management and enterprise software vendor to ensure adoption of strategy. Responsible for implementing pharmacy architecture that supports patient care systems. Directs enterprise pharmacy infrastructure and informatics project schedule and product lifecycle.

Uses comprehensive healthcare background and operational knowledge to analyze, develop and direct pharmacy solutions. Requires enterprise contract negotiation and management of software vendors, the establishment of implementation strategy, long-range planning, and oversight of the vendor and project teams associated with each deployment.

Develops and presents vision documents to various stakeholders throughout the enterprise gaining further engagement to execute pharmacy strategies. Directs content design and standardization for pharmacy strategy. Stays abreast of emerging technologies and platforms that enterprise software vendor adopts and how to adapt enterprise pharmacy architecture to that model.

Requires the ability to readily assess and understand functional requirements and to conceptually establish appropriate process re-engineering needs as part of the application and technology delivery methodology.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and/or in clinical systems management required. PharmD or BS Pharmacy and ten years related experience required.

  • Management experience in a healthcare related setting required.

  • Licensure as a registered pharmacist in Kentucky and Indiana required.

  • Current knowledge of healthcare environment and business processes.

  • A strong technical understanding of technical infrastructure and systems environment.

  • Ability to meet aggressive timelines through the use of innovative methods.

  • Expertise with project management tools and methods; a proven track record of leading teams to successfully implements projects within scope, time and budget parameters.

  • A strong ability to build and maintain relationships across all

  • organizational functions and levels; an ability to work well in a matrix management environment; a team player with considerable skills in collaboration and facilitation, able to influence others without the direct authority to do so.
