*** THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD *** Harkcon seeks an experienced, professional PRINCIPAL ENGINEER with a background in offshore wind technologies to join our team for 12-18 months as we prepare to complete an evaluation/analysis for the U.S. Department of Energy's Integrated Strategies Office, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). This position is contingent on award of the work to Harkcon. As the Lead Evaluator of a team, you will develop a plan, collect data, conduct analysis, and produce findings that will assist EERE in understanding the impact of its investments in research and testing. Additionally, this important work will inform EERE's future focus. The Principal Engineer develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and implementation of complex and difficult engineering solutions. The Principal Engineer may also plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of projects and programs, coordinating the efforts of other engineers and technical support staff in the performance of those efforts. This position requires experience to include prior support for or execution of Offshore Wind technologies at pilot or demonstration scale or similar experience in complementary industries, including executive level consulting or leadership experience. Must have executive level management including management of work performance and work efficiency, and independent oversight/assessment of large capital energy projects sometimes exceeding $100 Million as well as review and oversight of the preceding mid- or low-Technology Readiness Level (TRL) projects and technologies.
