This $18/hour role runs from October 21 to January 9 supporting the iconic Red Kettle Campaign by coordinating volunteer schedules, answering calls and emails, assisting with data entry, preparing materials, and occasionally ringing bells at kettle sites. Job Objective: This position supports the seasonal efforts of The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay by scheduling bell ringers, answering phones, performing data entry, and with the daily operations of the Red Kettle Campaign.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer calls from those seeking to bell ring and return messages in a timely manner.
  • Respond to e-mail messages from ringers.
  • Make calls to previous bell ringers.
  • Utilize website/database to enter kettle data, schedule bell ringers, generate reminders, emails/US mail reminders to scheduled volunteers.
  • Data entry for seasonal programs.
  • Bell ring on location, as requested by leader (indoor and outdoor locations)
  • Dispatch kettle volunteer drivers, organizing and delivering route lists, directions, and supplies, and verifying the accuracy of information regarding their route.
  • Ensure regular, Match Day, and Adopt a Kettle signs are ready for placement and/or removal by drivers.
  • Assist Volunteer Specialist in identifying any potential new kettle and counter kettle sites.
  • Create and organize kettle ID slips, volunteer signs, volunteer slips and files.



Minimum Qualifications:

Education:




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent


Experience:



  • One year experience in an office environment requiring attention to detail and organizational skills.



- OR -

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses & Certifications:

A valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier is required.

Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
  • Strong proficiency in use of personal computer software including Microsoft Office, e-mail, and internet.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.

Travel:

Regular local travel to kettle sites and other locations throughout the Greater Green Bay area will be required.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this job will be primarily performed indoors under normal room temperatures. The noise level will generally be low. While performing these duties, the employee may have occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions prevalent at the time. The position may require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. For other duties of this job, such as bellringing and kettle maintenance, the employee may be exposed to weather and facility conditions prevalent at the time.
