Job Family Engineering Discipline Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Career Level P3 Salary Range $85,700 - $120,000 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Job Family Description Engineering roles perform engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. They may design and scale up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. They may plan, design, and estimate time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components. They analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. They develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field. Discipline Description Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) engineers provide engineering support for electrical and/or instrumentation systems in an operating nuclear materials processing plant or as part of the broader site infrastructure. Electrical/I&C engineers identify system concepts and determine system functional and technical requirements, develop, and analyze equipment performance, monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and resolve problems and ensure operation within technical, regulatory and safety basis requirements. They propose and develop process/system improvements including equipment upgrades, and plant modifications. Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include: SRNS is seeking to hire an Experienced Physical Protection Systems Engineer (PPSE) into the Operational Technology (OT) organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for work related to the physical protection systems (PPS) across the Savannah River Site (SRS) supporting the Safeguards, Security, and Emergency Services (SS&ES) organization. This position will require the ability to work on several projects with overlapping and concurrent schedules. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field We'd Also Like to See Degrees/Disciplines: Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Nuclear Engineering Career Band Professional Career Band Description * Roles in this band apply the knowledge in area of expertise to analyze information; design and develop new approaches, methodologies and processes; and, provide professional advice and guidance to others in accordance with professional quality standards Career Level Description Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own field/discipline, solving complex problems with minimal guidance and oversight.
