This position is responsible for developing and maintaining DevOps infrastructure and Network configurations for Bracco Medical Technology's (BMT) global portfolio of medical devices. As a member of the BMT's global R&D software engineering organization, collaborate and deliver on the needs of the software development team, setup automated build and deployment infrastructure for the software team. This role will also interface with the IT team to provide requirements for infrastructure that meets the current and future needs of the Software team. Role will adhere to the Software Development Lifecycle process of BMT to accurately reflect the steps in automated build and deployment process. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards as documented in the Quality Management System (QMS).

Collaborate with adjacent functions and Field Services to help with network configurations and troubleshooting during installations and product launches.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve the build system and developer tools to streamline development processes and enhance efficiency

  • Demonstrate expertise in various build systems including CMake and Azure IoT Hub and Edge Devices, to support diverse project needs

  • Work on automation across all stages of software deployment and infrastructure management to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead

  • Establish and maintain monitoring and logging systems to proactively address performance issues and ensure system health

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the development, test, and production environments, ensuring high availability and performance

  • Collaborate with teams to integrate DevOps practices into the development lifecycle of Python, C++, and QT applications

  • Implement, manage, and monitor CI/CD pipelines for native applications and cloud services, ensuring fast and reliable deployment

  • Set up and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure and build agents within a Bitbucket/Bamboo environment, ensuring seamless integration and automation across software development and deployment processes

  • Document DevOps processes, tools, and configurations to maintain a clear understanding among teams and to facilitate onboarding of new team members

  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning, risk management, and data protection, in compliance medical software regulations

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in the DevOps and cloud space, particularly those relevant to the medical device and healthcare sectors

  • Experience in firewalls, Network stack and configurations to implement tiered levels of IT policy

  • Collaborate with team of software engineers and establish CI/CD (continuous Integration/continuous deployment) pipelines using appropriate tools.

  • Integrate existing automated tests to be run on a regular cadence on automated builds.

  • Establish and maintain code artifacts like binaries, packages, files etc. in a repository manager tool.

  • Work with IT to provide infrastructure needs required to build and maintain the DevOps infrastructure.

  • Run static code analysis, security vulnerabilities and open-source packages scanning as part of the automated build infrastructure.

  • Perform work in adherence to the BMT Quality Management System (QMS), including development and maintenance of documentation

  • Work closely with Cybersecurity and BMT Group (Milan) and local IT to develop configurations for advanced software engineering solutions with connectivity to external systems for interoperability.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Minimum

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • DevOps for Enterprise software architecture - B2B, scalable, preferably cloud driven but also on-prem experience, preferably in Healthcare IT

  • Experience managing Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).

  • 5+ years of experience setting up and maintaining DevOps, CI/CD infrastructure

  • Experience working with tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, GitLab etc.

  • Experience with security tools like SonarQube, Blackduck, WhiteSource, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell.

  • Knowledgeable in an agile software development and DevOps concepts.

  • Self-motivated to drive initiatives to improve software build process and increase efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with software development and IT teams to align infrastructure with evolving needs.

  • Experience interfacing with IT and field services teams.

  • Ability to work in regulated environments and document processes clearly.

  • Solid understanding of network protocols and services

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Implementation and knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related Science or Engineering discipline.

  • Extensive experience with building monitoring dashboards using tools such as Grafana

  • Proficient in languages such as Python, C++, Bash, or similar

  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

  • Expertise in Azure IoT services and infrastructure

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc.

  • Experience with one or more of the following router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with networking and/or systems technologies

  • Familiarity with compliance standards and security frameworks relevant to the medical device software industry (e.g., HIPAA, FDA regulations)

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding solutions

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices, cloud architecture, and security, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members

  • Experience working with medical device software development under a QMS system

Other:

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Compensation & Total Rewards:

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $133,000 - $146,000

*Estimated Starting Salary Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The range provided is based on salary and market data specific to the position.
