Molding Line Tender

Job Purpose:

Provide support to the production team by ensuring all operators understand and follow MPI's at the start of the shift or job, and relieve operators for breaks. During the shift this position will provide ongoing audits to ensure part quality standards are understood and being met by the operators and production totals are being logged, along with providing assistance with packaging, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

Nature of Duties:

-Plan and execute break schedules and uphold break time guidelines

-Supports operators on the floor with issues, as needed.

-Perform regular inspection ofproduct and communicate issues to Supervision and/or Quality

-Wipe down conveyors daily to assure contamination does not occur.

- Sustains 5S standards throughout the department

-Audit all workstations to confirm work instructions are being followed and parts meet criteria

-Operate press, sort products, or run autos as directed by the Supervisor

-Complete production tracking forms as required

-Assist with completing inspection tickets and numbering chipboard layers

-Assists with the updating of MPI's and other documents as needed.

-Communicates technical information with the production and engineering team as needed.

-Utilizes time management and organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed on time.

-Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.

-Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.

-Accurately completes all required documentation.

-Meets attendance policy requirements.

-Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed or directed.

Education and Experience:



  • Basic math, mechanical, and computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Two years of experience operating Molding machines is preferred, along with knowledge of part quality.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read English and understand basic sketches, routings, and operating manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.
  • Must possess excellent writing skills.
  • All communications must be thorough and handled with professional expertise.


INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:



  • Must possess a high level of leadership ability and be able to adjust to a varying work load.
  • Must be self motivated and work with little supervision.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
