Job Description

The CBHL is responsible for the coordination of services for individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of the justice system through law enforcement, courts, and/or jail personnel. Programs are designed for two age groups: Youth programs focus on clientele up to the age of 18 and adult programs focus on clientele 18 years and over. The clientele served have complex mental health and/or substance use needs, which are either unmet or poorly coordinated. The CBHL is a part of a person-centered integration team and works with local systems to coordinate care for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The CBHL is expected to engage in liaison functions to connect individuals to services. Services provided focus primary assistance in the domains of environmental, financial, social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional wellbeing. Some of the methods may include triage, risk assessment, assessment of behavioral and psychosocial needs, information and referral, client and family education, coordination of services with providers, to promote wellness across the domains. The CBHL works effectively in a multicultural setting, under the regular supervision and direction of a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, or other relevant field.

2. Must have good verbal and written communication skill

3. Good leadership skills

4. Ability to evaluate program outcomes

5. Ability to work with multicultural staff and clientele

6. If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment

7. Trained in crisis intervention

8. Knowledgeable about the local system of care, including but not limited to the operation of the community providers, the Access Crisis Intervention (ACI) system, inpatient psychiatric resources, civil commitment procedures, and guardianship laws.

9. Proficient in public speaking and experienced in delivering professional training.

10. Must complete BASIC Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training (40 hours) within six months of hire date and provide a copy of the certificate of completion to their supervisor.

11. Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment
