The Head of Investor Relations (IR) serves as the face of CBIZ to the investment community and is responsible for shaping and executing our investor relations strategy. The Head of IR partners closely with the CEO, CFO and Senior Leadership Team to craft a clear, compelling narrative around our strategy, performance and long-term value creation that contribute to improved investor perception. This role is ideal for a proven IR professional who thrives at the intersection of finance, strategy, and communication-and is energized by the opportunity to influence outcomes, build trust with stakeholders, and elevate CBIZ's presence with investors and analysts.
This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer, is a key member of the Finance Leadership Team and will collaborate closely with the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team, senior business and operations leaders, finance and accounting, legal and other teams.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
Strategic IR Leadership
*Design and implement a multi-year IR strategy to increase analyst coverage and investor awareness & interest in CBIZ.
*Monitor analyst activity, stock ownership trends, valuation models, and feedback to guide IR priorities and messaging.
*Establish an effective process and drive continuous improvement to support quarterly earnings reports and related reporting and information. Lead the development of earnings releases, investor presentations/decks, scripts, and Q&A.
*Collaborate with finance, legal, PR, and marketing to craft consistent messaging aligned with company strategy, performance, and market expectations and ensure transparent communication to drive shareholder value.
*Support broader corporate initiatives-such as M&A, capital planning, or ESG communications-that impact investor perceptions.
Investor & Analyst Engagement
*Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with analysts, institutional shareholders, and other stakeholders to enhance corporate visibility. Proactively identify and engage with new analysts and institutional investors.
*Manage the flow of financial and company information between the Company, its shareholders, and the full financial community. Respond in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner to investor and analyst inquiries and requests for numerous types of information.
*Proactively cultivate new sell-side analyst coverage, including the ability to communicate the operating model and financial levers of CBIZ's business segments and service lines.
*Identify investor and industry events where management participation would positively impact investor perception of the company. Lead execution of non-deal roadshows, investor conferences, analyst days, and one-on-one meetings to broaden coverage and advocacy.
*Prepare senior leadership for investor-facing events, ensuring readiness and confidence in market engagements.
Market Intelligence & Insights
*Analyze peer activity, market trends, and investor sentiment to shape messaging.
*Track and interpret analysts' models and consensus estimates to inform guidance.
*Provide market feedback to inform broader corporate strategy and capital decisions.
Regulatory & Compliance
*Ensure all IR activities meet SEC, Regulation FD, and corporate governance standards.
*Lead, influence, and oversee external-facing IR content.
Team & People Leadership
*Develop and support IR team members to foster a high-performance culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
*An MBA or Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
*Seven (7) to ten (10) years advancing experience in a key leadership role within investor relations, finance, or communications, with prior buy-side and/or sell-side experience preferred.
*Professional services, financial services and human capital-based businesses preferred.
*Combination of experience in public company investor relationships and other finance leadership roles, especially FP&A, and business unit level finance leadership.
*Familiarity with securities laws, stock exchange relations, and other relevant legal or regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance in all investor communications.
*Ability to align investor relations strategies with the overall business strategy, understanding the company's long-term goals and effectively communicating them to the investment community.
*Ability to tailor best practices in a CBIZ relevant manners.
*Highly collaborative leadership style with a high level of curiosity.
*Demonstrated ability to listen attentively, learn rapidly, and transform business strategy into compelling, credible, and succinct external communications.

*Commitment to developing and growing a premier finance team, and proven ability to manage consultants and external vendors for execution.

*Strong organizational, project management and critical thinking skills. Prior experience collaborating with executive leaders including CEO and Board level exposure, teams of cross functional employees and multiple partners and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
* The successful candidate will be credentialed in applicable areas of expertise (i.e. law, accounting, tax, product/services) with at least ten years of relevant experience in the field or industry.
* Must have strengths in leadership and management from a strategic perspective.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborative with internal groups to reach workable solutions, able to anticipate problems, creatively assess alternatives and manage conflicts
