Position Overview:

The primary purpose of this part-time position is to perform accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to support the City's financial operations. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing of city vendors and residents for funds due to the city. The position is also responsible for a variety of support functions related to payment of city vendors, via check, electronic funds transfer, and procurement card. The position requires accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable

    • Prepare accounts receivable invoices for general funds owed to the City.
    • Create and issue special assessment invoices for charges that may be applied to property tax bills.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of city records and customer balances.
  • Accounts Payable

    • Distribute invoices to city departments via an electronic approval system.
    • Remit payment to city vendors with use of city p-card via phone and online payment.
    • Assist with the administration of the city procurement card process.
    • Regularly assist with and/or perform weekly accounts payable payment process via check and EFT.
    • Assist and support Accounts Payable Coordinator with related duties as necessary.
  • Additional Tasks & Responsibilities

    • General accounting assistance as needed, including preparation and filing of routine journal entries.
    • Provide temporary support across other Finance Department functions as needed.
    • Adhere to departmental and city policies and procedures.
    • Adheres to schedule in a timely and punctual manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's Preferred), and
    • Vocational/Technical training in Accounting/Finance, or
    • Two years' experience in accounting/booking, or
    • A combination of the above substituting two years' experience in education.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $42,120.00- 50,349.00 depending on experience.
    • Salary range reflects base to midpoint of the pay scale. Offers above midpoint require Council approval.
