Engineer I/II - Systems
Overview Engineers are needed to support integration of multiple submarine electrical systems and their cables for the Subsea and Seabed Warfare insertion into VIRGINIA Class submarines. Engineers will regularly interface with other Electrical, Combat Weapon and Waterfront system engineers and designers for power distribution, instrumentation, monitoring and control systems, and communications. SSW Cableway Engineers will oversee the development and integration of all internal external cableways in the insertion area for the ship. This work involves review and implementation of ship and system requirements, 3D arrangement development of cableways, cableway roadmaps, while working with the various Area Team Leaders to ensure that cableways are successfully integrated into the overall arrangement. Engineers are also responsibile for the development of cableway/cable route disclsures and including review and signoff. SSW Cableway Engineers will also work with other EB engineering and design disciplines (Fluid systems, Structural, Ventilation and Arrangements), the shipyard trade organizations, buyers, planners, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton (SOSG), various NAVSEA codes, on to develop the cableways. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VISIO is needed to support this work. Cableway Engineers will review functional and performance requirements, technical studies, system descriptions and system diagrams to assist Designers in the development of the cableway roadmaps. Additional responsibilities include interfacing with the other discipline engineers to ensure diagram requirements are satisfied, all roadmap reviews are complete, comments incorporated and approval signatures received. Engineers will also support 3D product model development, review, approval and product issue for Cableways in the SSW module and all external cableways. through each of the Concept, Arrangement and Detail Design activities. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
