Job Summary:

The Shipping Receiving Specialist oversees daily shipping operations, ensures accurate documentation and processing in SAP, maintains dock safety, communicates with freight carriers and internal teams, and supports scheduling and material handling activities.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping/receiving environment is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with a modern MRP system is required.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills are required.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • SAP experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily assessment of shipping requirements.
  • Calculate finished goods required to make daily shipments.
  • Escalate any/all known shortages to appropriate Scheduler.
  • Communicate routings, load times, and other pertinent information to freight carriers and various Customer contacts.
  • Ensure all shipments are processed in SAP.
  • Use and maintenance of Customer-specific portals and websites may be required.
  • Assist Material Handlers with managing priorities.
  • Inform Material Handlers of weekly and daily shipping/packing requirements.
  • Ensure truck drivers and contractors follow Hydro's safety policies while on the shipping dock.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all movements related to sub-contracted materials/services.
  • Assist Scheduling group with coordinating movements.
  • Communicate to off-shifts any/all shipments or deliveries that will occur during the off-shift.
  • Crosstrain such that all shipping and receiving functions can be performed.
  • Ensure adequate supply of dunnage is available for Production.
