Position Highlights |
The Outreach and Events Specialist is responsible for assisting the Outreach Coordinator with outreach related programs and services. This includes special events for Adaptive Athletics and Campus Recreation, Student Affairs partnership programs, and sponsor relations, activations and tracking. This position is highly interactive and works to achieve collaborations, promotions and engagement. The position requires representation of the Department of Campus Recreation in a fair, consistent, cooperative and positive manner in accordance with Department and University policy. The position reports to the Outreach Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Provides logistical planning and communication for special events for Adaptive Athletics and Campus Recreation.
- Assists in planning individual special event offerings and activities intended to meet guidelines set by leadership staff for visibility, participation targets and financial parameters.
- Maintains relationships with Adaptive Athletics, Campus Recreation, the University of Arizona and Tucson community as necessary to achieve department success, collaborations, and partnerships.
- Coordinates and communicates with sponsors outside of Campus Recreation to achieve the highest levels of partnership and customer service.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to maximize event promotion and participation, as well as proper branding initiatives.
- Collaborates with the digital marketing team for all types of event promotions via social media, and website.
- Uses and maintains assessment tools to assess participant satisfaction and overall event feedback. Report on results, including strategies for process improvement.
- Adheres to budget guidelines including tracking, documenting and assisting to achieve budget targets carrying out best practices in financial stewardship.
- Assists the Outreach Coordinator with Student Affairs partnership programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High comfort level meeting new people over the phone and in person.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Proven ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability maintain relationships with employees, students, sponsors, and alumni.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with sponsorship and activations.
- Experience with contracting processes.
- Experience with Drupal, Qualtrics and CRM software.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
