About This Position

The Buying Specialist - CASP (CA DOC Securepak) is responsible for supporting the CA DOC Securepak program in all Procurement and Supply Chain functions. As we seek to grow this part of the Keefe business in California, this position will assist Supply Chain Planners, Category Managers, and the Sales team in a variety of functions related to product sourcing, supplier performance management, and inventory management to ensure that customers receive product on time and in full. The Buying Specialist will effectively communicate program updates to all essential parties. This is an early career role in the Keefe Procurement & Supply Chain organization.

This position is currently remote except for an in-office workday on Tuesday. Some in-person meetings may occasionally fall on other weekdays.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Partner with private label manufacturers, top 100 CPG companies, and leading brands to deliver bold new flavors and products. Guided by sales trends and CPG innovation, we source cutting-edge items that meet evolving consumer demands.
  • Collaborate with partners to collect and manage item information forms, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange. Lead item setup and maintenance within Oracle to support seamless integration and utilization across the business.
  • Coordinate the collection and upload of item images into the PIMS system to ensure accurate and complete product representation across platforms.
  • Secure and validate pricing for new items by working closely with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring accurate setup in business systems and alignment with competitive cost targets.
  • Item life cycle management - including item setup, cost management, sourcing, and necessary maintenance.
  • Supplier order placement, tracking, and management.
  • Supplier performance management as it pertains to shipment execution (on time and in full).
  • Forecast and inventory management to both facilitate sales growth and minimize risk of product expiration.
  • Tracking & monitoring sales patterns to assist in item life cycle management.
  • Effective and concise communication with the Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales leadership regarding supplier relationships, sales data, and inventory at risk.
  • Utilize and maintain Excel and PowerBI reporting tools to track inventory status.
  • Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelors/Associate degree preferred and /or equivalent 1-3 years experience.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Computer competency to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to work autonomously with high efficiency and accuracy of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Purposeful approach to issue resolution.
  • Collaboration and duties occur: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw/interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding to carry out instructions shared in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems when given several variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be thorough and detail oriented.
