Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Purpose:

Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipment, and prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

Nature of Duties:

• Examines shipment contents and compare with bill of ladling to verify accuracy.
• Packs, seals, labels, or affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
• Delivers or routes materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
• Requisition and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts supplies and equipment.
• Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
• Lifts heavy items and operate fork lift
• Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
• Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.

Non-Essential functions and duties:

• May prepare kitting packages for assembly production
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School degree or GED
• 2-4 years experience in manufacturing environment
• Must be able to drive a forklift

Mathematical skills:

• Ability to count and verify numbers against a bill of ladling
