This is a 100% Contract for 2 years with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status. Reporting to the Director and serving as a member of the executive team this position works as a partner to the Director in all activities. This position makes decisions on behalf of the Director and represents them in discussions with the executive team, sponsors, and university officials as needed. They will oversee the coordination and integration of multiple projects within CW3E ensuring all aspects align with the overall program objectives while managing communication and collaboration between different teams and stakeholders to achieve successful program outcomes. This position acts as the central point for aligning all components of CW3E. This position provides leadership and direction to CW3E that consists of program integration, strategic planning, executing grants, and communication and coordination with CW3E. This position directs and manages the assignment of action items to relevant personnel and is responsible for helping the Director manage his priorities. Serves as a key advisor to the CW3E Director to help navigate the Center's programmatic growth drawing on sophisticated understanding of internal and external dynamics, pressures and opportunities. Manages all communication between CW3E Director, Sponsors, Government Affairs, and CW3E staff to ensure timely action and confidentiality as appropriate. The position facilitates resolution of internal management challenges as needed in consultation with the other Directors. Informs the executive management team of the outcomes of meetings with external partners including taking the lead on any follow up actions required, potential opportunities for new funding and/or collaboration and partnerships. Ensures an effective system is in place to elevate matters for the Directors attention and delegate responsibility as needed. Helps manage CW3E Director workload including - drafting emails, talking points, summary and award reports, presentations as assigned and/or delegating tasks in consultation with the other Directors. Develops program-specific meeting strategies including goals and how to achieve them. Participates in meetings between the Director and external partners, represents the Director as needed at meetings with internal and external partners, tracks action items, and ensures prompt follow-up. Serves as a confidante for the Director, the position performs a wide range of duties that require tact, sensitivity, independent judgment, diplomacy, discretion and flexibility. Extensive travel will be required. Keeps abreast of high-level deliverables, research objectives, award budgets, funding proposals and status of CW3E awards. Plans and participates in strategic planning meetings and presides over meetings. Leads special projects as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
