The Professional Development Manager is a team member within the Human Resources team to design, deliver, and manage effective development training programs that enhance the skills and career development of our employees' companywide in partnership with partnering with the Technical Trainers in the Continuous Improvement team. The Professional Development Manager is responsible for leadership training, compliance training, and career path development while mentoring employees and fostering a culture of safety & continuous learning.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices in accordance with company and client worksite policies.
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture.
  • Design and deliver leadership development programs for high-potential employees and emerging leaders.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and create customized learning solutions.
  • Develop and implement professional development programs, workshops, and training initiatives to enhance employee skills and competencies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with external vendors, consultants, and training providers to source and deliver specialized development programs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new learning technologies to enhance professional development initiatives.
  • Create career development pathways and provide coaching and mentorship opportunities for employees.
  • Manage learning management systems (LMS) and other digital training platforms to support online and blended learning.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
  • Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification in corporate training, instructional design, or a related area (CPTD, ATD, SHRM, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in professional development, training, or learning & development roles.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and talent management.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
  • Ability to analyze data and measure training effectiveness.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player with excellent work ethics. Strategic planning skills.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful leadership and compliance training programs
  • Tactful, professional demeanor with ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, internal and external parties.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
