Job Description Summary

Enterprise is seeking a Director of Programs for the Rocky Mountains to join our Rocky Mountain, Tribal Nation and Rural team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled program developer and leader, with experience in program and budget design and management, fundraising, staff supervision, building relationships and providing technical assistance and to expand housing options in Colorado and surrounding Rocky Mountain states. This position will report to the Vice President, Rocky Mountain, Tribal Nations, and Rural Market.

The Rocky Mountain, Tribal Nations, and Rural Market strives to provide safe affordable green housing for communities in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains, rural communities and/or Native American communities across the country. The Director is responsible for creating and managing affordable housing and community development programs and activities in support of Colorado and other Rocky Mountain communities and organizations. Support is provided through technical assistance to community-based organizations, nonprofit housing developers and providers, private and public sector partners, leveraging public and private resources including Enterprise grants, loans and equity products.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Enterprise program(s) for the Rocky Mountains including designing and managing overall program elements to be delivered, managing events, trainings and technical assistance for a broad range of stakeholders from throughout the region.
  • Responsible for developing and tracking budget of program area(s), and fundraising for all program activities.
  • Exercise foresight and judgment in initiating, planning, and organizing highly complex projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building resources for the development and preservation of housing within the region.
  • Develop and deliver training information to nonprofit organizations, government entities, local communities and others to enhance their capacity to respond to their housing needs.
  • Manage the implementation of curriculums, trainings and guides and programing including the development and delivery of program content, relationship development, event management and collaboration with key partners.
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal grant and funder compliance requirements, provide pass through grants and consultant engagements necessary to deliver programs.
  • Manage the Colorado Leadership Council and key Enterprise internal advisors.
  • Manage and build external partner relationships with partners, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Grow the reach of the market while building the capacity of nonprofit partners throughout the region and respond to needs throughout the region by leading engagement with public partners, private funders and other stakeholders to advance the work.
  • Manage and supervise staff, supporting them to deliver to the best of their ability and contribute their unique perspectives and skill sets.
  • Work independently with other Enterprise departments and teams to deliver programs
  • Identify, build, and manage senior internal and external relationships, especially with organizations focused on creating and preserving affordable rental housing.
  • Represent Enterprise at external meetings and conferences with team and leadership.
  • Support or lead other programmatic activities of the Rocky Mountain, Tribal Nations, and Rural Market as identified by the Vice President and Market Leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree in real estate finance and development or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in the affordable housing field, with five years experience with affordable housing finance, program development and management.
  • Experience as an affordable housing professional and passion for serving a variety of communities.
  • Ability to design and deliver training and technical assistance programs to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Required five (5) years of management experience.
  • Knowledgeable with programs such as LIHTC, HOME, PABs, Section 4 and other housing and development programs and financing options.
  • Knowledge of real estate project financing and management, and real estate underwriting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and engagement.
  • Ability to travel 15% of time.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex activities prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent people management skills and experience.
  • Excellent budget development and tracking and grant compliance experience.
  • Excellent training, technical assistance and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, composure, flexibility and ability to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Strong initiative with ability to seek out relevant information prior to making timely decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and take responsibility for moving tasks forward with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines, and use good judgment in managing conflicting demands and priorities.

The base salary for this role is $125,000 to $143,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
