Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Sr UX Visual Designer, Academia & Government (A/G), plays a pivotal role leading the end-to-end creative development of digital and print materials by integrating brand strategy with user experience (UX) thinking. Execute concepts with creativity, and minimal project/art direction, delivering marketing assets that balance visual aesthetics with user-centered design to support the A/G segment global strategies. Drive cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and innovative design approaches to optimize brand communication and user engagement, empowering the Academic/Gov't Strategic Business Unit with an independent creative hub.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Design creative assets for multi-platform deliverables (advertising, corporate communications, trade show experiences, websites, landing pages, emails, presentations, etc.) independently or in collaboration with design teams, ensuring visual consistency and seamless user interaction.

2. Apply UX thinking to design logic, such as enhancing digital material's usability and conversion rates through user journey mapping and information architecture planning while leading design reviews and user feedback collection, translating UX test results into iterative design directions to align with user expectations and business goals.

3. Conduct in-depth research on products, user behavior, market trends, and competitors; integrate UX methodologies (user interviews, usability testing) into design strategies to provide data-driven creative concepts.

4. Lead cross-functional design projects with but not limited to Strategic Business Units, Branches, Global Sales Segment Marketing Manager, Strategic Collaborations Marketing Manager, Product Managers, and Product Marketing Managers, establishing reasonable timelines and resource allocation plans for efficient execution.

5. Create design proposals, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups when needed; communicate design concepts and user value clearly through design language and tools (storyboards, interactive prototypes, etc.).

6. Optimize workflows by leveraging industry trends and AI technologies (automated design tools, data-driven design) to enhance team efficiency and innovation.

7. Mentor junior designers, sharing design methodologies to elevate team design thinking when needed.

8. Manage design files and digital assets; ensure print materials meet industry standards for color management and file output, coordinating with vendors for proofing and press approvals.

9. Adapt to change with flexibility, maintain a high standard of excellence, and persistently pursue goals despite challenges. Be mindful of how actions and behavior affect colleagues, contributing positively to a team effort and making a significant impact towards shared objectives.

12. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of an Associate degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field; 7-10 years of professional design experience, including at least 3 years of UX design or cross-platform user experience optimization.

2. Demonstrated ability to create conceptual designs and execute digital deliverables. Need to have clean, precise graphic skills and the ability to self-direct. Able to follow instructions with attention to detail.

3. Experience in integrated marketing campaign design, with fluency in end-to-end design logic from brand strategy to user touchpoints.

4. Complete working knowledge of both Microsoft and Mac OSX-based Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Acrobat, and other design tools.

5. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with a focus on prioritizing tasks effectively. Maintain a relentless approach to prioritization and embody a proactive, 'can-do' attitude in all endeavors.

6. Highly self-motivated and independent, with a strong drive and determination to succeed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in graphic design/UI/UX Design

2. 5+ years of complex project design and management experience.

3. Full-cycle design experience from concept to commercialization, familiar with brand visual standards in scientific/medical industries.

4. Proficiency in AI design tools and hands-on experience in UX research (A/B testing, focus groups, etc.).

5. Experience with project management software and digital asset management systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to utilize a computer to accomplish required tasks as outlined above on a continuous daily basis.

2. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.

3. Ability to use ladders.

4. Ability to position oneself in low positions.

5. Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds.

6. Ability to transport items between buildings.

7. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office application.

8. Ability to travel internationally 10% and domestically minimum of 10%.
