Essential Job Duties
Rave! Catering is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Pack as an Event Coordinator. Rave! Catering proudly employs experienced, certified chefs and catering professionals to provide the highest degree of service possible to ensure successful events.

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize all staff, equipment, and logistics of events, as well as the pre-event logistics that include creating equipment lists and diagrams using event information from Catertrax.
  • It is critical to ensure that everything is needed for a particular event is on hand or is ordered on time to make each occasion successful.
  • Professional and friendly customer service is critical for the success of this role and in representing Rave! Catering for the university.
  • Supervise the events and follow up with clients. This position must understand the catering menu selections based on the event and setting. It is an expectation for this role to initiate creative ideas for event setup, presentation, and flow.
  • Manage and run events that vary from small break services to large plated meals. These events may have no staff to assist, or you may be overseeing and supervising many to ensure the success of the event.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met. Position may be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.

This is an hourly position that includes a state-required 32-day break at the end of 11 months.

NC State Dining provides campus-wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 11 cafes, 3 food courts and 6 dining halls, 3 markets, 2 restaurants, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 190 permanent EPS and SHRA employees.

  • Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Minimum Experience/Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and supervisors, and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the university.
  • Must follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain professional and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to the team and customers.
  • Demonstrated excellent organization skills.
  • Accurate data entry and timely completion of data entry.
  • Excellence in completing all tasks and performance goals.
  • Must be able to professionally collaborate with colleagues and be part of a team environment.
  • Requires bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds above the head and up to 60 pounds on rare occasions, with or without reasonable assistance.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Previous work experience in catering or food service experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety, cleaning and sanitation procedures

Required License or Certification

  • Valid Driver's License required. State vehicle furnished to drive to events or other Campus Enterprises locations.
