Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

1. Supervise, check work, and mentor Estimators and Estimating Engineers.
2. Develops and oversees conceptual estimates for assigned projects, supports the planning and engineering groups in the development of all levels of estimates, and collects and analyzes close out and benchmark data.
3. Leads major estimating efforts.
4. Develops and clarifies estimate reports.
5. Cultivates strong subcontractor knowledge and relations.
6. Experienced in presenting estimating results to clients.
7. Demonstrates knowledge of all civil structure architectural trades.
8. Competent at conceptual and detailed levels of estimating.
9. Value engineering leadership and tracking.
10. Drives deadlines and achieves results.
11. Mastery of scope review process.
12. Mastery of estimating software programs including on-screen take-off.
13. Consults with architects and engineers on project parameters.
14. Ensures database-pricing updates are completed.
15. Honor the brand promises of the Project Planning Group at Christman. Foundational to our brand is: providing accurate costing; proactively offering creative solutions for the team; and understanding our client's business to optimize capital investment and to win as a team.
16. Complete assigned and required training for this role.

Work Environment
This position will be conducted in a temperature controlled professional office environment, with moderate noise. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and maintain visual acuity. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry lightweight objects under 20 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
Full time position. Extended hours and weekends may apply.
Travel
Minimal travel required, depending on the project, travel to other areas may be required. Majority of travel done during work hours, overnight stays may be required.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related job field.
2. Eight (8) years of estimating experience in construction or related job field.

3. Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related job field.
2. Ten (10) years commercial construction experience.
3. Capability to complete large Construction Management (CM) and General Contractor (GC) Construction Management at Risk and Design Build projects and large complex competitive bid projects.

5. Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, and gains their trust and respect.
6. Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgement.
7. Provides advice and solutions to others.
8. Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
