The Department of Surgery at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University is accepting applications for surgeons on to qualify for the rank of the Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include seeing patients in an outpatient office at one or more of our office locations and on call hospital responsibilities. The scope of practice will include on-call responsibilities and building an outpatient practice. In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent will teach medical students, residents and fellows. Responsibilities include participation in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and credentials. A board-eligible Surgeon would be appointed at the Instructor rank until board certied. MD or DO. Completion of General Surgery Residency and Specialitty Fellowship if applicable. Completion of Cardthorracic Residency and Specialitty Fellowship if applicable. Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery, American Baord of Thoracic Surgery or it's equivalent.
