The Director of Retail is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational execution, and financial performance of all retail outlets at Horseshoe Bay Resort. This includes three golf shops, the marina retail operation, and the hotel gift shop.

The Director of Retail is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational execution, and financial performance of all retail outlets at Horseshoe Bay Resort. This includes three golf shops, the marina retail operation, and the hotel gift shop. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with a strong understanding of merchandising, team development, vendor relations, and guest service in a luxury resort setting.

General Duties:

• Provide leadership and vision for all retail operations to ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience across all outlets.
• Develop and execute seasonal and long-term merchandising strategies aligned with resort branding and departmental goals.
• Monitor retail trends, guest feedback, and sales data to make informed buying and inventory decisions.
• Oversee purchasing, pricing, visual presentation, inventory control, and shrinkage management across all outlets.
• Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms, delivery schedules, and exclusive resort offerings.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of retail managers and associates; foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and guest-first mentality.
• Collaborate with golf, marina, hotel, and resort events teams to maximize revenue through special promotions, tournaments, and resort-wide initiatives.
• Ensure all stores meet operational standards, including cleanliness, merchandising, signage, and staffing.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for each outlet and adjust strategies accordingly to meet or exceed budgeted revenue and profitability targets.
• Maintain strong communication with resort leadership to align retail initiatives with overall resort goals and guest experience standards.

• 5+ years of progressive retail management experience, preferably in a resort, golf, or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong merchandising and buying experience, including vendor negotiation and inventory management.
• Proven leadership ability with experience managing multi-unit retail operations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems, retail inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in business, Retail Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Able to lift up to 40 lbs. to shoulder height
• Able to sit and stand for extended periods
• Frequent bending, turning, kneeling, stooping and repetitive motion
• This position requires availability on weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons.
• Ability to move between multiple retail outlets located across the property.
