Are you passionate about the power of AI and data to transform customer experiences?Our team is searching for a Sr Platform Engineer who will be a strategic and hands-on technical leader, responsible for developing, deploying, and optimizing scalable, secure, and resilient platform services that support our core data workloads. You'll build and improve critical infrastructure across platforms including Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, and Unity Catalog-ensuring performance, security, and cost-efficiency. This role blends platform architecture with hands-on engineering and a strong emphasis on developer experience, automation, and operational excellence. Responsibilities: * Platform Architecture & Operations: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain platform infrastructure with a focus on scalability, fault tolerance, and observability. * Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake Engineering: Lead the configuration, optimization, and support of Databricks workspaces, Apache Spark jobs, Snowflake workloads, and cluster performance across multiple environments. * Data Platform Migration: Support and manage migration use cases between Snowflake and Databricks, ensuring minimal disruption and architectural consistency. * Unity Catalog Governance: Administer and scale Unity Catalog with fine-grained access controls, lineage tracking, and compliance alignment. * Developer Experience & Automation: Develop internal tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code to streamline delivery and reduce toil. * AI/LLM Readiness: Understand emerging AI/LLM (large language model) platform features and ensure our infrastructure is prepared for future integration. * Workload Optimization & Cost Efficiency: Continuously monitor and optimize resource usage to improve performance and reduce infrastructure costs. * Incident Leadership: Lead incident response and root cause analysis with a focus on learning, transparency, and prevention. * Technical Mentorship: Provide code reviews, architectural guidance, and support for peers and junior engineers. * Agile Collaboration: Work in a 2-week sprint Agile model to deliver high-quality platform features and improvements. * Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with data, security, compliance, and product teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: *Required Qualifications * 5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles with exposure to data infrastructure * Strong development experience across infrastructure and platform services * Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Snowflake in production environments * Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines * Deep understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Skilled in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, Go, etc.) * Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) * Proven experience working in Agile environments using a 2-week sprint model * Strong incident management and system tuning experience * Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills --- *Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Kubernetes and Spark-on-Kubernetes deployments * Knowledge of Databricks REST APIs, workspace automation, and access controls * Familiarity with regulatory environments (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR) * Experience in performance tuning and cost optimization of data applications * Understanding of AI/LLM platform capabilities and integration readiness * Governance and RBAC design in Unity Catalog Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
