Job Title: School-Based Mental Health Specialist

SUMMARY:
Make a difference where it matters most - in the lives of students and families. As a School-Based Mental Health Specialist, you'll provide compassionate, integrated mental health and substance abuse services directly within local schools. In this vital role, you'll support students' emotional well-being, help them navigate life's challenges, and connect them with the tools they need to thrive - in the classroom and beyond.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Deliver direct mental health and substance abuse counseling services in a school setting.



  • Build trusting relationships with students and families to foster open communication and engagement.



  • Develop action plans and support strategies tailored to students' unique needs.



  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to coordinate services and resources.



  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.



  • Serve as an empathetic resource for students during times of crisis or challenge.





REQUIREMENTS:




  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, or a closely related field.



  • Experience: Less than six months of related experience - perfect for an early-career professional ready to grow.



  • Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license with no more than two points.



  • Skills:




    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address student needs using evidence-based principles.



    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



    • Ability to build trust, show empathy, and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff.

Salary Range: Minimum $34.11/hour - Maximum $56.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.



In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
