You'll analyze risk trends, monitor industry and regulatory changes, and develop the annual audit plan based on critical risks. Effective communication with senior leadership and delivering clear audit reports are key responsibilities. Your insights will help guide management and assure executive leadership that significant risks are managed effectively. ResponsibilitiesContinuously assess the organization's risk landscape and emerging industry trends to build the annual audit plan focused on key risk areas and in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.Act as a trusted advisor to clarify risks to their business and where there may be potential blind spots.Provide oversight and guidance during audit execution, ensuring the audit team's fieldwork focuses on the critical risks and that testing is thorough and effective. Mentor audit team members to build their business acumen and risk management skills, providing feedback and guidance that help them grow.Ensure clear and concise audit reporting of risks tested during the audit for senior leadership and the Board. Analyze and advise management on whether their planned actions will mitigate identified risks.Leverage internal partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals and increase business acumen.Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture and champion Microsoft's values of integrity and accountabilityStay current on industry best practices, technology advancements, and professional standards in auditing3. Raise the technical and risk knowledge of yourself and the team through ongoing training and development. Continuously seek ways to innovate audit processes (e.g. through data analytics or automation) to increase efficiency and insight. |
