Position Title: Product Engineer

Product Engineer Responsibilities: - Create designs that provide contracted performance, are reasonably within time/cost budgets, maintain structural integrity, and can be manufactured by PFI factories or sub-contractors - Provide engineering expertise to areas of tooling, prints, specifications, product maintenance, product materials, raw materials and purchased components throughout the organization - Coordinate with team members to identify the development, maintenance and improvement of engineering standards, procedures, document control systems, design tools, modeling tools and related systems - Support sales department's efforts with technical information and presentations - Communicate positively with managers, peers, and customers, both internal and external - Plan and execute given tasks in a timely manner and within deadlines - Update, maintain and archive records utilizing document control system Requirements for Product Engineer: - Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school - At least one year of related experience and/or training preferred - Formal training in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS software programs - Capable of acquiring proficiency in SOLIDWORKS PDM software - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software - Valid Driver's License - Practical mechanical aptitude to understand the functionality of machinery and equipment - Technical comprehension skills to read and understand requirements from specifications, drawings, instructions, and other design input information - Capable of working independently - Good interpersonal communication skills working with Engineering, Shop and Field personnel - Understanding of fabrication and dimensioning practices as they relate to the construction of equipment - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations - Some travel may be required |
