Position Summary
Organization: The Grief Center Location: 4125 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award Position Purpose: This position's purpose is to support The Grief Center (TGC) in pursuit of achieving our mission, to provide a safe and supportive environment for those who grieve. Assists the Program Department with supporting volunteers and participants, planning and running events, and general administration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist TGC Staff: Program Support *Provide support prior group by checking group rooms to make sure all necessary supplies are stocked and prepare the Commons with a water pitcher and appropriate number of cups on each table. Assist the hospitality volunteers with meal prep. Greet participants and ensure they sign in. *Provide support during groups by providing needed materials and copies as needed. *Provide support after groups by restoring rooms to their original state and assisting with closing procedures. *Assist program staff with activity planning, outreach efforts, and events *Assist with feedback forms/surveys from participants. *Weekend work as needed, including but not limited to fall and spring mini-training and special workshops. Administrative Support *Provide front desk support when needed. *Assist with copying and other tasks associated with training, workshops, or TGC events. *Assist with data entry, or other duties as requested, at the discretion of the ED. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in English with attention to all spelling, punctuation, grammar, and neatness, as well as professional language and demeanor. Ability to communicate orally in Spanish, with attention to professional language and demeanor. Preferred Ability to relate well in cross-cultural environments Standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner, voice mail, email) Able and willing to work an irregular and flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on Agency needs Microsoft 365 Intermediate Skills MS Word Intermediate Skills MS Excel Intermediate Skills MS PowerPoint Intermediate Skills WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. The workplace requires use of a computer and standard office equipment. Required to lift or move up to 25 pounds unassisted and 26+ assisted.
