The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Instructional Systems Specialist - Journeyman to provide support for our government customer in Orlando, Florida or remote. Instructional systems analysis involves the implementation of and adherence to a systematic design process for effective and efficient learning. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops instructional material, coordinate educational content, and incorporate current technology into instruction in order to provide guidelines to educators and instructors for developing curricula and conducting courses.
- Reviews content at all stages of the development process, from initiation to final completion to provide quality assurance and to ensure conformance with contract specifications.
- Maintains courseware lessons that support major military related systems training. Interprets compliance policy and standards for curriculum design and documentation for training conducted.
- Independently performs training situation analyses and job task analyses to support the functional design and development of synthetic training systems and equipment to solve training problems.
- Professionally documents the results of analyses.
- Conduct analyses to identify and validate training requirements and document results of analyses.
- Design and conduct analyses in support of HSI to include selecting methodology, designing instruments, collecting and analyzing data and reporting results.
- Design and implement training-related human performance improvement (HPI) interventions.
- Apply validated research to support learning decisions.
- Develop and recommend alternative training strategies for consideration by decision-makers.
- Design, develop, and implement instruction in a systematic manner. Provide input on selecting instructional media, materials, and equipment to meet learning objectives.
- Plan and accomplish production of instructional materials.
- Design, develop, and implement prototype and final courseware for interactive multi-media, computer-based, web-based, and distributed learning presentations.
- Evaluate training development and training effectiveness using formative and summative evaluation techniques.
- Provide inputs to a data base system for maintaining assigned training systems hardware, software, and courseware operational and currency status.
- Instruct client personnel on procedures, processes, and methods of operating, maintaining, revising, and enhancing the assigned training system.
- Use appropriate industry and Government standards and specifications.

- ISD: Training Situation Analyses, Training System Functional Descriptions, Military Characteristics, Instructional Performance Requirements, Instructional Media Requirements, Instructional Media Design, Training Program Structure, Course Conduct Information, Training Conduct Support, Training Evaluation, Test Package, Instructional Media Package, Training Systems Support; Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS);
- HSI: Mission Analysis, Mission Scenarios, Functional Flow Block Diagrams, Operational Sequence Diagrams, Performance Baseline Specifications, Quality Function Descriptions, Top Down Functional Analysis, Workload Analysis, Test Analysis, Manpower Estimation;
- HPI: Business Analysis, Performance Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Intervention Performance, HPI Evaluation; POA&Ms.
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire training system components; identify efficient means for conducting procurement phases; and develop inputs to specifications and proposal plans.
- Develop and generate procurement components.
- Process documentation for electronic entry and attach supporting documents in Cyberdocs.
- Produce specific charts, graphs, databases, or other products that summarize the data collected in a manner that is understood and usable by the customer.
- Perform data collection, data organization, data analysis, and report generation.
- Prepare the following Products/Documents/Reports: Contract Schedules, Contract Data Requirements Lists, Tracking Documentation, Business Graphics and Databases.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, which includes at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
- The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
- Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology
- Instructional design practices
- Educational evaluation
- Instructional product development
- Computers in education and training
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Candidate must have approximately three (3) or more years of practical experience working with the knowledge of learning theory and the principles, methods, practices and techniques of one or more specialties of the instructional systems field.
