Description Audio Video Estimator III Overview Our Client is seeking a highly motivated, charismatic, and experienced Audio-Video Estimator III to support our nationwide sales team in our Torrance office. This role is part of the Engineering & Estimation Department (EED) and will assist both the Sales and EED teams with client interactions, consultations, designs, and proposals. The Audio-Video Estimator III will prepare accurate cost estimates and written proposals for new and existing commercial, federal, and educational clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate AV system designs and detailed cost estimates for a variety of installations, including conference rooms, classrooms, retail spaces, and specialized audio applications such as paging and sound masking. Additional knowledge of structured cabling is a plus. Projects may vary in size across industries and project types. Our Client has over 300 employees, with corporate headquarters in Torrance, CA, and branch offices in Rancho Cucamonga, San Diego, and Charlotte, North Carolina. ________________________________________ Responsibilities Attend and participate in pre-sales meetings with clients and internal staff to determine and document solution requirements Interface with manufacturers, purchasing agents, suppliers, customers, and internal staff Review RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, floor plans, and design documents Provide detailed written documentation of meetings, calls, site walks, and scopes Prepare comprehensive bills of materials and cost estimates Develop conceptual and design drawings using Visio or Bluebeam Review written proposals and BOMs to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards Support Operations teams throughout project execution by answering technical questions Participate in project kickoff meetings ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Ability to independently manage the Audio Video Estimator III role 8+ years of experience in AV design, estimating, installation, and/or client-facing roles Knowledge of AVIXA best practices Ability to read, interpret, and understand RFPs, specifications, and drawings Capability to develop designs that enhance existing system functionality Meticulous attention to detail Proactive approach to problem-solving Understanding of project management principles Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and Outlook Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Comfortable and professional in client interactions Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptional customer service orientation Previous field/installation experience Ability to pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) check Ability to pass a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) check ________________________________________ Manufacturers & Products Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: Extron, Crestron, Christie, Planar, Samsung, LG, Daktronics Biamp, Crown, Atlas Sound, Atlas IED, Electro-Voice Cisco Webex, Zoom ________________________________________ Preferred Education / Certifications 4-Year Degree Extron: AVA, XTP-E, ECS, DSPX Crestron: DMC-D, DMC-E, CSDP AVIXA: CTS-D Other relevant AV manufacturer certifications ________________________________________ Additional Information Local travel to jobsites will be required.
