Job Description: Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Manager, Operations to join the FAL based in Mobile, AL The Manager, Operations is responsible for technical leadership along with oversight of all manufacturing activities within the respective business of the Flowline. Plans, directs and coordinates the policies and procedures for the flowline operating system and assists in evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures. Recommends changes, when necessary, and assists in implementation of new processes to support the Flow Line's world class Performance management center. Provide direction and oversight to production activities and achieve 95%+ In-station Build of the A/C for all value streams of work. Closely monitor and manage all budgetary requirements regarding consumables consumption, hand tools, and Jigs/Tooling maintenance. Address all needs concerning Work Orders, WIP materials management, Design and Work Process questions and Ground Test which performs all relevant aircraft tests. Responsible for the management of all employees assigned to the Station. Includes the selection, performance management, identification of development needs, and employee recognition. Actively manage the transfer from Trainers (expats) to employees through succession planning, preparation, knowledge transfer validation, and training. Lead and maintain a high level of technical knowledge among the workforce in regard to mobility, turn-over and integration/development of new operators. Ensure fulfillment of legal and airworthiness requirements to ensure Operation, including demonstration of compliance for the maintenance of the POA. Contribute to enhancing the corporate image by ensuring FAL environment standards are high and continuously improved. Support the Analysis for the Cost of Non Quality data to identify root cause and eliminate human factor quality defects that occur in the manufacturing/assembly process, as quickly and as early as possible. Collaborate with the procurement function to ensure the acquisition of necessary consumable materials as well as tools and other equipment.
Your boarding pass:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Production Operations (Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, Production method, etc.).
- 5 or more years of experience in a leadership position.
- Experience with project management preferred
- Experience in a multicultural work environment.
- Experience with Quality / Logistics rules in aviation manufacturing.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills on different levels, a structured way of working and the ability to deal with a volume of complex information.
- Experience as a member and leader of an international team.
- Must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift.
Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: Onsite 100% of the time
- Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings on a daily basis
- Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms on a daily basis
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications on a daily basis
- Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts on a daily basis
- Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs on a daily basis
- Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs irregularly
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools irregularly
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer on a daily basis
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving irregularly
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor on a daily basis
