The Opportunity

Join Mascoma Bank's Retail Team as a Relationship Banker I and help us improve our clients' financial being! At Mascoma Bank, we aim to provide exceptional customer service while enhancing the lives of our customers and communities.

As the Relationship Banker I you will be the first point of contact with our customers, assisting them with their daily banking transactions and inquiries, while providing exceptional service. The Relationship Banker I will also have an eagerness to learn, a personal drive to understand all the key functions of a banker, and the ability to adapt to our evolving banking landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Being a full-service banker who can greet the customer upon visiting the branch to assist them with both deposit/loan and more detailed transactions.
  • Building and enhancing customer relationships by finding ways to solve customers' issues or identifying ways to enhance their financial lives.
  • Understanding how we can support customers through our products and services to help them understand the best options for making banking easy.
  • Being responsible for guiding customers through the account opening and application processes and preparing expectations for how best to manage their finances.
  • Embracing challenges, learning from feedback, being inspired by and celebrating others' successes.
  • Ensuring that a continuous effort is made to keep customers and the public informed about banking services; actively engaging customers on a regular basis to anticipate and meet their needs.
  • Willing to learn new products and understand how to use those to help customers and make knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Continuously demonstrating a helpful, friendly, positive attitude that makes the customers happy they chose us for their banking needs.
  • Maintaining a passion with putting the Customer First in every interaction.
  • Communicating and interacting with customers skillfully (internal and external).
  • Understanding and adhering to the Bank's policies and procedures.
  • BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security, operation, and personnel policies.

Work Location: This position will be based in our Bethel, VT branch.

Compensation: The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.00-$21.35/hour depending on experience.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in problem-solving.
  • Great, positive attitude and likes to work with people on a team.
  • Flexibility in job schedules and work locations including Saturday and early morning drive-up hours.
  • Comfortability with changing technologies and Microsoft based products.
  • Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with Mascoma Bank appearance policy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer information.
