Job Summary:



This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position at the instructor level for dissemination and implementation science and pragmatic research in the Department of Emergency Medicine. This role will involve program management for both the EMBHR team and the CCTSI D&I Research Core.

This position will participate in direct strategic planning to grow the team's capacity for translational (especially translation to health practice and to population health) and pragmatic research and dissemination/implementation science, and may serve as a co-investigator on grant submissions for the department with expertise in community engagement, co-design, and designing for dissemination and sustainability. The successful candidate will have a passion for collaborative research and will contribute in the areas of study design, community engagement, grant portfolio management (including exploring new and diverse funding sources for the lab's research), program management, and scientific writing (manuscript and grant preparation). In addition, the candidate should be able to work independently, manage a portfolio of projects including developing and managing project timelines, and have strong communication skills.

This position will exercise a large degree of independence and work under supervision of the PI to conduct the EMBHR lab's community-engaged research and to manage EMBHR lab research staff. As Program Manager for the Colorado Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) D&I Research Core, this position will play a key role in creating and maintaining infrastructure for both D&I and pragmatic research on campus and among CCTSI partner institutions.

This position will also act as a co-instructor for courses in the university's D&I Certificate program, and will collaborate with partners within and outside the university to build capacity for translation, dissemination and implementation of clinical and pragmatic research.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide strategic leadership in the EMBHR Lab
  • Oversee a portfolio of grants and explore opportunities to expand and diversify EMBHR Lab funding
  • Lead reporting and dissemination of research activities and findings
  • Collaborate with university and external partners to build infrastructure and capacity for research translation, dissemination and implementation
  • Work collaboratively with EMBHR Lab research faculty and staff to conduct high-level, professional, and scientifically rigorous community-engaged research
  • Collaborate on grant application writing, including study design, analysis plans, and co-creation planning
  • Collaborate with other research team members to co-author abstracts, oral and poster presentations, and scientific manuscripts
  • The duties of this position may change from time to time and/or based on business needs. We reserve the right to add or delete duties and responsibilities at the discretion of the supervisor and/or hiring authority.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per month on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

EMBHR follows principles and methods for "designing for dissemination, sustainability, and equity" including community and partner engagement throughout research planning, conduct, and dissemination and application of behavioral science and D&I theories, models, and frameworks. EMBHR leads and collaborates on research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree
  • 10 years of research-related experience in an academic medical center setting
  • Experience contributing to scientific manuscripts/presentations and translating/communicating about research to non-academic audiences


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in community engagement, co-design, designing for dissemination, customer discovery, and other key methods for community-engaged research
  • Experience serving as first author on scientific manuscripts

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

$102,000
