Member Services Representative Location: Bakersfield, CA Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Member Services Supervisor and direction of the Member Services Manager, the Member Services Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to health plan members and providers. This includes conducting welcome calls, resolving inquiries related to plan benefits and policies, and facilitating issue resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in a call center or healthcare setting, be bilingual in Spanish and English, and possess strong data entry and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct new member welcome calls and respond to inquiries from members and providers. * Explain plan benefits, policies, and procedures clearly and accurately. * Assist with claims issues and guide users through the Member Portal. * Open and distribute incoming mail; manage returned mail and update addresses as needed. * Answer and document incoming and outgoing calls in CRM. * Draft simple correspondence and complete standard forms. * Maintain departmental inventory and manage both manual and electronic filing systems. * Operate office equipment including copiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems. * Retrieve and scan documents as requested; maintain accurate file records. * Support management and other departments with special projects as assigned. * Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Minimum of 2 years' clerical experience, preferably in managed care or health insurance. * Typing speed of at least 30 WPM. Preferred Qualifications: * Bilingual in Spanish and English. * Experience in member services within an HMO environment. * Strong data entry and multitasking skills. Work Environment: This role is based in an office setting with a cubicle layout. It involves high call volumes and requires the ability to multitask across multiple screens while maintaining excellent customer service. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
