Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Management Analyst - NURSING-Operations, Strategy + Innovovation.
In this role, the successful candidate This system-wide role serves to drive excellence in quality, financial performance, operational planning, and analytics for Nursing and Patient Care Services, which includes over 8,000 nurses. As a system-level Sr. Analyst, this individual will be expected to process and respond to complex business questions using critical thinking and independent judgement. This individual will be responsible for developing reports, dashboards, and recommendations using a variety of analytical tools. As Sr. Analyst, this individual may guide the work of other analysts or team members, and will be a thought leader for new projects and analyses. As a member of Nursing and Patient Care services, this role will directly advance our clinical mission for service excellence, while also serving to improve our financial performance by enhancing our budgeting processes, creating impactful reports/dashboards, and thoughtful planning for new service offerings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing actionable metrics, reports, dashboards to support our system-level financial and operational performance in Nursing. Key functions include, but are not limited to:
- Co-development of Analytics Center dashboards with MCIT,
- Independent development of internal tableau dashboards to support all campuses,
- Creation of new metrics and business terms to track performance in an actionable way,
- Maintenance and access management for internally-hosted dashboards, and
- Use of other analytics systems (Alteryx, Tableau Prep) and creation of database queries (SQL/Oracle) as needed to conduct analyses and expand our reporting capabilities.
- Establishing system standard templates and metrics with the goal of centralizing and socializing patient care data with the appropriate stakeholders
- Presenting clear and precise findings and recommendations to all levels of leadership
- Understanding business requirements and exercising discretion and independent judgment in comparing and evaluating approaches to analyses
- Prioritizing and executing ad hoc analytics requested by leadership and nursing colleagues
- Support for outside data submissions that rely on nursing workforce data (e.g. NDNQI, AHA)
- Overseeing the work of other analysts (as required) to ensure sound methodology and adherence to best practices
- Serving as an outward-facing representative of Nursing Operations by presenting to senior leadership and other external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree, with 3 or more years of relevant progressive experience in an academic medical center, higher education or relevant consulting environment.
Outstanding organizational, project management, critical thinking, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to translate to the big picture and back.
Action-oriented, with experience managing aggressive deadlines and advance multiple contracts concurrently and deliver consistently high-quality outputs on time
Ability to exercise discretion, good independent judgment, and independent thinking.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SQL and an understanding of relational databases
Experience with large scale health care data processing (e.g. electronic medical record data, health system cost accounting data)
Familiarity with hospital operations and experience working with hospital financial data
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
