Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

As the PC/LAN Technician, you will provide county customers with excellent customer service experiences, reliable communication, accurate issue assessment and lasting resolutions that support the customers' business processes.You will be responsible for proactive end-user focused technical support of workstations, laptops, printers, virtual desktops, and other supported peripheral devices. Act as a subject matter expert for end-user computing experiences and provide comprehensive support for component systems and services.

We Require

  • Three years of technology-related experience, including performing a combination of installing, loading, configuring microcomputer hardware and software, detecting/resolving computer and printer problems

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Two years of experience in desktop or helpdesk support in an enterprise PC environment

  • Experience with Windows 11, Microsoft O365, Image creation

  • Experience with user and device management in Microsoft Active Directory

  • Endpoint solution management experience

  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience

  • CompTIA A+, or ITIL Foundations

  • PowerShell, Tanium, SCCM, Workspace One or Intune experience

Job Contributions

  • Configure and Maintain End User Computer Systems:
    Installs, configures, and maintains desktop and laptop hardware, software, systems, and peripherals; participates in large-scale departmental technology refreshes; maintains accurate inventories; and assists with equipment moves, unloading new equipment, and disposing of old equipment to salvage vendors

  • Customer Service:
    Meets customer demands, prioritizes workloads, coordinates activities, and ensures that activities comply with industry best practices and Maricopa County standards

  • Communication:
    Works closely with other groups to coordinate plans and activities to facilitate specific business outcomes. Identifies potential service level problems before they occur: maintains a high level of communication with customers with respect to scheduling support call follow-up and confirmation of resolution

  • IT Service Management (ITSM):
    Manages service ticket queues and resolves daily hardware and software support issues; serves as a subject matter expert and top-tier onsite support; researches industry trends, technologies, and standards, providing proactive recommendations to supervisors or management

Working Conditions

  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
