POSITION SUMMARY: The primary duty of the Facility Maintenance Technician is to perform task necessary to support all activities related to the maintenance, housekeeping, modification, and construction of the company hangar and office facilities. A secondary duty is to support the day-to-day aviation operations as directed. All work is to be performed to meet all company, safety, and regulatory requirements. It is the goal of the company to introduce the Technician to various support roles in aviation as an apprentice for future growth consideration. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential satisfactorily. Minimum of one (1) year experience in facilities maintenance as a technician required. Perform repairs and facility support tasks. Tasks include but not limited to light bulb replacement, ballast replacement, door repairs, carpentry, plumbing, painting, welding, heating and air-conditioning system repairs and maintenance. Ability to identify parts, equipment, and alternative parts as needed to support all facility maintenance activities. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. A valid driver's license is mandatory along with passing OSHA equipment testing as required. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, electrical or other trades will be considered. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School or equivalent and 1 year of experience in a relevant trade in a commercial, industrial, or facilities setting. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is not a remote position. You are required to be present at the KACC office during normal work hours, which are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and talk or hear, stand, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills with customers and employees. MATH ABILITY: Ability to apply concepts of basic math. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. COMPUTER SKILLS: Experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a preference for understanding and experience with Basic Logic (Waterloo or Basic Language) for Control Units Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning as an example.
