Position Overview
Access Management is a critical component of Security and Compliance within KU Information Technology. Reporting to the Account Security Coordinator, this position is responsible for managing the daily operations of Access Management and ensuring secure and appropriate access to all University of Kansas enterprise systems and services. The goal is to safeguard the integrity of the university's central academic and administrative databases and systems.
This role involves creating, maintaining, and revoking user access to these systems, following established request and approval processes. The incumbent collaborates with security operations teams to develop and maintain procedural documentation and implement automation wherever possible. Adherence to the security standards, policies, and procedures of KU Information Technology, the University, and the State of Kansas is essential. The IT Analyst must be proficient in enterprise systems, authentication protocols, and offer guidance and support to system users. Given the critical nature of access management, this role requires year-round, continuous support. The employee must exercise discretion, good judgment, and initiative in all tasks, ensuring compliance with university policies. All ITSO personnel must adhere to University security policies and annually sign a confidentiality agreement. KU is not able to provide H-1B sponsorship for this position. Due to complex state employment laws, the University of Kansas may be unable to hire fully remote workers for this position outside of Kansas.
