Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 annually + 20% Bonus (Stock & Equity)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, safety-focused, and results-driven Environmental Specialist to join our Regional Compliance Team at Chiquita Canyon Landfill. This role is ideal for someone with 3-6 years of experience in environmental compliance who thrives in a hands-on, field-based role.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee environmental compliance activities including audits, inspections, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Interpret and track site permits, regulatory orders, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and support permit renewals and updates.
  • Analyze groundwater, wastewater, and stormwater data; support environmental reporting (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, GHG, Title V).
  • Coordinate and manage third-party consultants and contractors.
  • Conduct internal inspections and support site visits and audits.
  • Develop and deliver training, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
  • Work in field conditions including exposure to landfill gas, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of relevant environmental compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of California environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel (5%) and work occasional weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to use personal vehicle for site visits.
Work Environment
  • This is a 5-day on-site role with occasional travel and fieldwork.
