Job Description: Job title: ProMade Product Development Manager Hip & Knee, USA Company: Encore Medical, L.P., a subsidiary of Enovis Corporation (New York, New York) Duties: Manage engineering components of product development withing a cutting edge medical device company, specifically, manage the ProMade Product Development Engineering Team, which designs and manufactures bespoke solutions for complex orthopedic cases. Manage the engineering components of the development and design of implantable custom product and instruments, contributing to and leading strategic initiatives for sustainability and scalability of custom implant design and production at in hospital Point of Care facility. Provide 2D and 3D design and approval and oversee the evaluation and approval of design inputs, design review, risk analysis and production launch. Collaborate with surgeons, sales representatives and Business Unit Managers to evaluate component design inputs and set compromise between customer and patient need and product feasibility and cost. Manage documentation for the development and registration of custom implantable components and instruments and special application on complex cases. Oversee designed products timelines, budget, and engineering quality standards. Identify engineering process optimizations and services extensions. Provide surgical field support. 30% domestic and international travel required. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or related. Must have 5 years of experience with: surgeon interaction and project initiation, including gathering case initiation documentation such as medical records, imaging (CT scan, X-ray, etc.) while respecting patient privacy, and understanding initial surgeon request for treatment strategy; registration requirements, including with the following registration pathways: Compassionate Use, Custom Device Exemption, and 510(k) envelope; managing implant design team, including participating in design process and creating KPIs to ensure on-time performance, performance to budget, cost, lead-time; regularly attending live surgery for expert understanding of arthroplasty surgical protocols, techniques, and other information related to implant and instrument design requirements and understanding of how patient specific instrumentation is used to prepare the patient's bone for the proper placement and stability of a custom implant; design software, including NX CAD software, Team Center PLM to manage design life cycle, CAD/CAM software for production, and Microsoft office suite; and additive and subtractive manufacturing, specifically, designing implants with features that meet surgeon requirements and maintain features for primary production via additive manufacturing and minimize the need for subtractive manufacturing. Salary: $189,675/year.
