Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and technically adept Senior Business Analyst to support the planning, execution, and oversight of client operations within the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The role involves coordinating a complex suite of terminology, ontology, and software development initiatives that underpin biomedical research and semantic infrastructure. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a bridge between cross-functional technical teams, federal stakeholders, and senior project leadership to ensure deliverables are executed on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating all aspects of client technical projects, including terminology lifecycle support, system architecture, tool development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Track and report project schedules, resources, budgets, and risks using established project management tools and methodologies.
  • Liaise with NCI federal staff, technical leads, software developers, QA analysts, and ontology subject matter experts to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Assist in preparing project plans, status reports, financial summaries, and documentation to support Task Order execution.
  • Coordinate recurring team meetings, status updates, and ad hoc technical discussions to ensure progress tracking and issue resolution.
  • Monitor operational workflows, support task prioritization, and facilitate the integration of new terminology content and tool enhancements.
  • Participate in review and implementation of process improvements and updates to client tools and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, policies, and mandatory training related to confidentiality, privacy, information security, and conflict of interest.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of monthly financial and performance status reports for COR and executive leadership review.


Qualification



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing or supporting day-to-day operations of enterprise-level IT or semantic systems projects.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary technical teams and communicate effectively across stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), terminology editing, and semantic content management tools such as Protege, MEME, and SPARQL is a plus.
  • Experience working in biomedical informatics, health IT, or federal government projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in producing project documentation and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, integrated environment.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $135,000 per year benchmarked in the Maryland/DC/Virgina area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
