ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calls on European multinational corporations that either a) maintain subsidiary operations in the U.S., b) sell products or services into the U.S., or c) are looking to make an initial investment in the U.S. Markets the full line of Fifth Third Bank Commercial products, and refers new business opportunities to the appropriate U.S.-based RM for closing.
  • Helps to build Fifth Third Bank's profile in Europe.
  • Calls on European parent companies with U.S. or Canadian subsidiaries to discuss subsidiary needs.
  • U.S./Canadian RM is co-assigned to the relationship when established.
  • U.S./Canadian RM coordinates lending and other domestic banking needs for the U.S. or Canadian subsidiary (including credit underwriting, opening accounts, execution of loan documents, and the delivery of services to clients).
  • Provides education to the European parent company on the U.S. banking system.
  • Works with Fifth Third Bank's Capital Markets team to identify if a U.S. subsidiary has capital raising and/or investment banking needs.
  • Representative will refer opportunities to the relevant relationship team for execution.
  • Calls on strategic, pre-screened companies via: cold calls, banking contacts, private equity firm contacts or networking opportunities.
  • "Pre-screens" the European parent company for compliance with established target market definitions, using various market resources (ex. Dealogic).
  • Provides relevant stakeholders with market updates.
  • Helps to coordinate European business trips for Senior Management, RMs and business partners, including setting up calls, and hosting events.
  • Develops relationships with Banks/Private Equity firms.
  • Develops referrals & introductions for U.S. subsidiaries.
  • Refers Loan Syndication opportunities.
  • Garners introductions to identified/targeted prospects.
  • Supports the ICB calling effort in Europe, and provides market analysis & intelligence by country.
  • Acts as player/coach for junior staff.
  • All activity must be conducted in accordance with and pursuant to all applicable fifth third bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to, the international operations regulatory guideline (the "matrix"),generally, and the solicitation guidelines contained therein, specifically, and the international playbook.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Lead at European Office with direct reports of all European Representative employees.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred concentration in Finance, International Business.
  • European language skills required (German preferred).
  • 5 - 7 years of International Corporate Banking experience required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Fifth Third Bank products across all divisions required.
  • Exceptional communication skills required.
  • Must be an extremely self-motivated individual capable of working in a remote location with minimal daily management and minimal supervision.
European Representative III Total Base Pay Range 94,500.00 - 203,200.00 USD Annual LOCATION -- London, EC4R 1AP
