Essential Functions 30% - Mows lawns, trims, prunes trees, fertilizes, maintains irrigation systems, waters, sweeps walkways and building entry ways. 25% - Performs herbicide and pesticide applications, digs trenches, cultivates, plants and transplants, spreads mulch, rakes leaves/debris 20% - Operates various grounds equipment, such as tractors, mowers, edger's, trimmers, spreaders, aerators, top dressers, etc. 25% - Moves equipment and outdoor fixtures; operates parking lot sweepers and dump truck; empties trash receptacles; ensures safe working conditions and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Completion of formal or informal education or experience which assures the ability to read, write, and speak at a level sufficient for the successful completion of the job duties as described. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working grounds maintenance in a college or large property (20 acres or more) B. Experience working on gardening beds and/or planting trees C. Two (2) year of experience with procedures related to irrigation systems D. Two (2) years of experience overseeding and fertilizing turf E.
