Procurement Manager

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?
The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of order processing, procurement, and supply chain planning with an end goal of ensuring timely delivery of all customer orders. This includes formulating value stream strategies and implementing best practices in inventory management, forecasting, procurement, and overall supply chain management. The ability to lead a team and collaborate across Optical Analysis production facilities in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Rancho Cucamonga, California will be essential to achieving these objectives.

Which tasks will you perform?

  • Identify and implement order management strategies to increase efficiencies and optimize process improvements in support of company objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales and production managers to collect all forecasts and customer demands and utilize this information to develop supplier forecasts and plan deliveries.
  • Utilize knowledge of SAP ERP system for supply chain planning and developing stronger processes aligned with other parts of Endress+Hauser.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and manage their performance scorecard to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts and agreements to secure advantageous terms.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements through effective use of tools and strategic sourcing, while meeting engineering, quality, and product management specifications and requirements.
  • Work closely with all material handling disciplines including receiving, inventory, and shipping.
  • Monitor and report on procurement metrics and performance.
  • Manage and support the development, growth, and success of the procurement team.
  • Support materials compliance, corporate social responsibility, and other corporate programs.
  • Develop and maintain a strong trade compliance program.

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, and management of materials and sourcing within a dynamic design and manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%.
  • High-level knowledge of forecasting and planning systems and MRP concepts required to fully utilize material planning MRP tools.
  • High-level knowledge of lean manufacturing and JIT principles and be able to apply them in appropriate situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • High-level of integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize and assign tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong negotiating skills and ability to sustain networking relationships.
  • Proven decision-making ability with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure with the ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities, with exceptional multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
