Position Overview:

Georgia State University's Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a skilled professional to join our vibrant and growing team as an Application Developer, Intermediate. Reporting to the manager of Application Design and Development, this is responsible for the development, implementation and/or maintenance of application-based solutions, which includes responsibilities and deliverables that span all phases of the application development lifecycle. The Application Developer, Intermediate is also responsible for developing project plans, documentation, scheduling and facilitating small project meetings, coordinating activities of the project team, and reporting project status to both management and customers. These duties involve moderate interaction with internal University customers and external vendors, independent judgment and sound decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include but is not limited to the following essential duties:

1. Application Support

* Respond to customer reports of issues, performance anomalies, and general inquiries.

* Troubleshoot application code and design solutions.

* Develop, test, and debug software patches and fixes.

2. Requirements and Systems Analysis

* Define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.

* Analyze and document business processes and functional requirements.

* Evaluate the business impact of applying technology solutions.

* Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.

3. Application Programming

* Design programs, code, test, debug, and document software applications.

* Ensure code quality and maintainability through best practices.

4. Project Management

* Identify necessary resources and develop project plans and schedules.

* Facilitate project meetings and coordinate team activities.

* Monitor and report project status to management and customers.

5. Communication

* Participate in regular meetings with management and customers.

* Provide updates on project progress and application support activities.

6. Version and Configuration Control

* May provide version control and configuration control for software supported by the team.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:

* Advanced level JavaScript expertise

* AWS Knowledge

* SQL - Relational database design concepts
